I'm glad I'm not the only crazy one! I used to drive Beau nuts, waking up sure Brynn was lost in the bed, yelling that she wasn't breathing- when in fact she was always sleeping in her little bassinet. (It does get better with more sleep!) You guys are great!
I was ultra sleep deprived about one week in. My mom came in the bedroom with Isaac (she was taking the night shift) to wake Christa for a feeding. I had it in my head that the women from small group were in certain rooms around the house, manning baby stations. Christa was the feeding station, Angela was burping, Rachel changing, etc...and different babies would simply be passed from station to station. So when this baby was brought in, the following groggy conversation ensued:
me: Who is this?
christa: sshh I got him.
me: Who IS this?
christa: go to sleep, sweetie.
me: Which baby is this?
christa: what? go to sleep.
me: Is that Isaac?
christa: yes. go to sleep.
me: ok
Thanks for sharing your crazy dream stories too. As Karen said, it's nice to know others are going through the same thing sometimes... I got a mental picture of this little baby processing factory from Chad's comment that was great.
I remember having those frantic, "Where's the baby?" nights! I also had weird daydreams, so to speak. After I had my second baby (and third baby and again after I had my fourth), I would hear the baby crying and pick her up to comfort her. As soon as she calmed down I would "hear" another baby crying in the house. I would have this moment of panic that I'd forgotten about this other newborn and then reality would return. My sister said the same thing happened to her.
Hey Cousin,
I did this several times with Amelia. It is pretty scary, but it will pass and then you will have other nightmares. Just Kidding.
