A vacation retrospective

One of the things Brian and I set as a priority when we were first married was travel. We didn't always have the money to go someplace exotic and faraway, but tried to at least go somewhere once a year.

And every year before this one, we've gone on vacation in late September or early October, around our anniversary (today is our sixth anniversary!) A few of the trips (our honeymoon and our 5th anniversary trip) Brian planned entirely on his own and kept even the destination as a surprise. He is a great trip planner!

So here's to six really wonderful years...and hopefully many years and vacations to come.

Our fourth anniversary -- silly faces and a sunset at the South Carolina shore. September 2005

Our Pacific Coast Highway driving trip (July 2006). This was our favorite spot from that trip -- Hearst Castle at San Simeon.

The big 5th anniversary. October 2006
Rocky Mountain National Park and Colorado Springs

So, no exciting trip this year, but we are going out to dinner (almost as rare of an occurrence right now as a vacation used to be!)

Congrats on 6 years! Considering that I spent 15 years of my life under the same roof as Brian, I admire your endurance, Angela. (hehe) Thanks too for posting the Kate pics...the karate one is my favorite.

Congratulations on 6 years. I wish you many more. I'm on the 33rd year of my honeymoon.

Last year Barb and I took a road trip up along Lake Michigan to Manistee, then over and up to Traverse City, up around the west side of the bay back across to Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes then up to the Charlevoix/East Jordan/Boyne Mountain area. I loved it. As I look back, it was only 4 days and three nights, but it was excellent.
