Bonneyville Adventure

Last Saturday was a strange weather day. It started with a cancelled little league game for Kate, as the temperature was about 40 degrees with rain threatening in the early morning. By mid-morning, the sun had peeked out and Colin was able to play in his game. Shortly after, it was cold and raining.

Several more rapid switches from rain to sun and back around lunchtime had us wondering if we should proceed with our planned afternoon outing to Bonneyville Mill with friends from the South Bend Adventure Club. Turned out that going was the right call, as the remainder of the afternoon and evening were quite pleasant!

The kids enjoyed visiting the mill, including a demonstration of grain grinding inside, and checking out the grounds around the main building.

 

  We then embarked on a hike of the south loop of the park to check out the lookout tower!

The view up top was beautiful...

We caught up with Adventure Club friends, Joshua, Rachel, Rochelle, Frank, Kerry, and Dave while we were there and explored a little further.

Then, they were all worn out...

We also enjoyed a visit with Great-Grandpa Bachman celebrating his 95th birthday that day!
